Lookup DM-EXP-0001 An expression parse error occurred at position

ERROR: DM-EXP-0001 An expression parse error occurred at position n;Too few arguments - Lookup( alias, statement [, quote] [, max_values] ).>>>LOOKUP();.

When Cognos Data Manager is failed because of DM-EXP-0001 then you have expression error in your Lookup function code. This sign >>> is point the exact location of error. Following are the wrong usage of Lookup function.

1. Lookup(); Error position >>>LOOKUP();. Cause Missing Arguments Database alias and SQL Statement both are mandatory.
2. Lookup(DatabaseAlias); Error position LOOKUP(>>>DatabaseAlias);. Cause enclose DatabaseAlias in single quotes.
3. LOOKUP("DatabaseAlias");Error position LOOKUP(>>>"DatabaseAlias");. Cause Only Single Quotes are allowed to enclose any thing in a function.
4. LOOKUP('DatabaseAlias);Error position LOOKUP('DatabaseAlias);>>>. Cause Closing Quotes is missing.
5. LOOKUP('DatabaseAlias');Error position >>>LOOKUP('DatabaseAlias');. Cause Missing Arguments SQL Statement both are mandatory.
