Cognos Data Manager Delay Control Function

Function: Delay

Syntax: Delay ( value );

Explanation: You can use Delay function to create appropriate gap between two executions. For Example we have a procedure node which continuously checking for a condition in database. To reduce the number of hit to database you can use delay function.

Delay (value); Here value is an integer number. If value is equal to 10 the delay functions execute next statement after 10 second.

Delay(10);

Usage: Let say we have a file checker task and you want to check the files on a particular location in every few minute you can use Delay function in a in a loop to check the availability of file.
